Video Propertes

These properties control the visual look of a clip.

These properties only affect the selected clips.

All of these properties can be varied over time by using a Video Action. For example, a “Ken Burns” Zoom and Pan effect can be accomplished with a Video Action.

Properties

  • Scale

Controls the scale of the object.
Scales equally in both X and Y direction, overriding any modified aspect ratio. If you want to change the aspect ratio, you can click on the object in the Preview Area and position it manually.

  • Rotation

Allows you to rotate the object around the X, Y, and Z axes.

When using the wheels, you should move the mouse far away from the wheel to gain accuracy.

  • Opacity

Controls the alpha channel in the clip. This is how much you can “see through” the clip to what is behind it.

When used in a Video Action, you can fade-in or fade-out a clip.

  • Reflection

You can add a reflection to the bottom of your clip, and vary the intensity of that reflection with the slider.

  • Shadow

Allows you to create a drop-shadow for the clip, controlling the angle, color, offset, opacity, and blur.

  • Saturation

Adjust the colour saturation of the clip.

  • Brightness

Adjust the colour brightness of the clip.

  • Contrast

Adjust the colour contrast of the clip.

  • Add Video Action

Adds a video action which allows you to vary the above properties over time. This can also be done by pressing the “+” button at the top right.

  • Reset all settings to their default values.
